Black Widow Movie Review

Review of a Few Camera Angles in the Movie

Black Widow (2021)

From Producer Marvel Studios

I chose this movie because when I heard it came out I was really excited to be able to watch movies again. This movie follows the events of Captain America: Civil War. In this movie Natasha is a fugitive and she reunites with her sister who she hasn't seen in forever. While many people did like this movie, I personally did not like this movie after watching it. I don't think it did justice to the Marvel movies and I think it was to slow and didn't make any sense to me.

This shot is a choker shot; in this scene we see as taskmaster, as master assassin, learns all of Natasha and Yelena's moves in order to be able to beat and kill them. Taskmaster plans on killing Natasha and Yelena because they have a serum that will cure all of the other agents from being brainwashed. This shot also acts as a very menacing shot to show just how scary taskmaster is.

This shot is an extreme long shot of taskmaster finding Natasha and attempting to kill her. In this scene we learn that Yelena has sent Natasha the serum without Natasha knowing what they are. This leads to Natasha having a target on her back. So, Taskmaster plans of killing Natasha to get the serum and make sure no one ever finds out what it is. In order to escape, Natasha pretends to throw the case holding the serum into a river; this way taskmaster would have no need to kill her. This shot shows how powerful taskmaster is and just how strong he is compared to Natasha. We also learn that Taskmaster is able to perfectly copy Natasha's moves.
This is an over the shoulder shot of Yelena and Natasha talking together after they found each other. In this scene Natasha and Yelena talk about what happened to each other after they got separated. Yelena says that she made up a false identity for Natasha incase someone ever asked Yelena about each other. This is a warm scene that is used to try and connect the audience with the characters.
This shot is a dolly shot because in this shot the camera is following as the motorcycles are chasing after Natasha and Yelena. During this scene Natasha and Yelena are being chased by taskmaster and the red room soldiers, they are a group of deadly assassins that have been used all throughout history as a form of destruction, and Yelena and Natasha struggle to get away; especially since they are in a car, Taskmaster is in a tank, and the red room soldiers are on motorcycles.
This is a close shot, and one of the final parts of the movie. In this scene we see as Natasha and her family have taken down the red room and the main villain of the movie. We then see as Natasha tells her family to run and let her take care of it. I didn't like this part of the movie because later on we see Natasha got away but we aren't sure how. We are also never given a hint or any form of clues to let us know what happened. I think this is very annoying and should've been shown.
